Venice has few lofts (no industrial buildings): this is the unique one in an real historical foundry, air conditioning
LoFt
Inside the LoFt you can find a 'flying' iron stair hand made.
It's 9,500 Kilograms (4,300 Kilos for the steps); only the structure needs about 4 times the iron usually is required for a normal apartment with the same area. The design is copyrighted; hidden supports help walls to contrast the iron movements.
Moving up and down you'll be surprised: the structure is really hard and the flexibility is less than normal.
This stair was created in the mainland and moved to the apartment by boat.
The original project had a single structure (no screws) but later it was changed using separated components and special screws to resolve one external problem: no enough space in the nearby canals for a boat transporting a crane for a 10 tons stair.
