Accomodoo.com Ltd (“Accomodoo”, “we”, “us” or “our”) is the data controller for personal data processed through VeniceApartments.org, its booking platform, accounts, communications, payment administration and Guest Information, Data Processing and Remote Information Support Services.

The relevant Property Owner remains the supplier of the accommodation and acts as a separate data controller for the rental agreement, the property and applicable local legal obligations.

Independent check-in, cleaning, maintenance and other local providers may act as separate data controllers for the services they provide.

2. Personal data we collect

We may collect:

  • names, email addresses, telephone numbers, addresses and country of residence;

  • property, ownership, pricing, availability, tax and payment information supplied by Property Owners;
  • IP address, browser, device, security, login and website usage information; and
  • cookie and similar-technology information.

Full payment-card details are normally processed directly by authorised payment providers. We generally receive only limited billing information, payment status and transaction references.

Please provide health or other sensitive information only where necessary for a specific request.

If you provide information about another Guest, you must be authorised to do so and must make this Privacy Policy available to that person.

4. How and why we use data

We process personal data to:

  • create and manage accounts;

We rely on contract, legal obligations, legitimate interests including fraud prevention, security, service improvement and business administration, and consent, depending on the purpose.

Where information is required to process a booking, payment or legal obligation, failure to provide it may prevent the booking or service from being completed.

You may unsubscribe from marketing at any time. You have the right to object to direct marketing.

5. Sharing personal data

Where necessary, we may share personal data with:

6. Cookies

We use essential cookies to operate the website, maintain security, process bookings and remember necessary settings.

Analytics, advertising and other non-essential cookies are used only after consent. They must not be activated before consent is given.

You can accept, reject or manage non-essential cookies through the cookie banner or Cookie Settings. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing carried out before withdrawal.

Your browser may also allow you to block or delete cookies, although this may affect essential website functions.

7. International transfers

Personal data may be processed in the United Kingdom, the European Economic Area and other countries where our providers operate.

Where required, international transfers are protected through adequacy decisions, approved contractual safeguards or another mechanism permitted by applicable data-protection law.

You may contact us for information about the safeguards used.

We retain personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary.

Booking, payment, invoicing, tax, VAT and OSS records are retained for the applicable statutory period and may be kept for up to 10 years where required.

Enquiries that do not result in a booking are normally retained for up to 24 months. Marketing data is retained until you unsubscribe or object.

Identity information is retained only for the period necessary for verification, lawful transmission or reporting. Data may be retained longer where necessary for a dispute, investigation or legal claim.

9. Your rights

To exercise your rights, email info@veniceapartments.org with the subject “Privacy Request”. We may request reasonable evidence of identity.

You may complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office or, where EU GDPR applies, to the competent supervisory authority in the European Union.

10. Security, children and automated processing

We use reasonable technical and organisational security measures. However, no internet or electronic-storage system is completely secure.

Bookings and Owner accounts may be created only by adults. Children may be included as Guests in a booking made by an adult.

We do not normally make decisions based solely on automated processing that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
